Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act, and also helps determine how we respond to stress, relate to others and make choices. Mental health is important for every person at every stage of life.
Despite this, there can be many barriers to receiving the support we need to be mentally healthy, such as stigma, cost, insurance status, lack of culturally responsive care, transportation and many more – all of which have an impact on mental health outcomes. These barriers disproportionately impact people depending on their race/ethnicity, income and gender to name a few.
Change to Chill is working to address some of these barriers and offer a wider variety of tools to help teens and the adults who work with them cope with unique stressors in their lives.
